The incumbent will be expected to coordinate research studies under the direction of the Professor of the Department of Academic Psychiatry. Find Out More » Adelaide, Adelaide Region - Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Nuclear and/or Maritime Engineering The University of Adelaide’s School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) is in search of a strong and dedicated researcher and educator at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent) specialising in Nuclear Engineering and/or Maritime Engineering, to join our team of active academics within the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. This is a continuing (tenure-track) academic role. We are seeking an expert in Nuclear Engineering, Maritime Engineering, and related areas, with a well-established research track record or relevant industry experience and strong passion for teaching and course development in nuclear engineering, radiation detections and measurements, nuclear safety and materials, plasma/fusion science, thermal-fluids, propulsion systems, and maritime engineering. This position will work closely with our active academics in the fields of naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, energy technologies, and other related areas. Our research is highly interdisciplinary and involves collaboration with scientists, engineers, and industry. Lecturer (Level B, $111,031 - $131,335 per annum) plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies. To be successful at Level B you will need: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in nuclear and/or maritime engineering Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, energy technologies, fluid processes in maritime and nuclear or relevant industry applications. Record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning Demonstrated ability to develop courses in nuclear and maritime engineering Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with both students and staff Senior Lecturer (Level C, $135,388 – $155,696 per annum) plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies. To be successful at Level C you will also need: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in nuclear and/or maritime engineering Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths such as hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, navel nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, energy technologies, fluid processes in maritime and nuclear or relevant industry applications. Substantial record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings Demonstrated ability to win significant research funding Substantial record of success in effective teaching using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning and efficiently manage course coordination duties Demonstrated ability to develop courses in nuclear and maritime engineering Record of successful curriculum development or pedagogical innovation Demonstrated ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students.
