Utilise data accuracy and a passion for SBS and World News history, to facilitate greater access to archival assets. Utilise high level knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities, with all SBS content MAM systems. Carry out archive metadata and media preservation projects, by way of cataloguing, media clipping and ingest workflows. Expertly update, manipulate and merge data from multiple databases, Excel and SBS systems, to create accurate records of SBS media assets, that facilitate ease of future access. Provide support in delivering media access, research and supply services, to internal and external production clients. Liaise with the NAA and NFSA in selection and transfer of required A/V archival media assets. Support the preservation of SBS archival collections and execute transfers of selected media, to the NAA. Retrieve tapes from storage, retrieve content, encode, handle and process. Support SBS Divisions to comply with SBS’ Media Assets Retention Policy. About You Archives Media Specialist will be an all-round media wrangler, a confident data and systems whiz, with knowledge and love of broadcast history and a passion for its preservation and reuse. You will carry out a diverse range of media asset management activities, including cataloguing, metadata control, media retrieval and asset transfers. You will be a crucial member of a small team, be able to work to broadcast deadlines, and daily utilise your attention to detail, data manipulation expertise and media systems confidence. A demonstrated passion for SBS, video editing and excel data manipulation skills are highly desirable.
