Key competencies (role specific criteria) You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following: Relevant knowledge, skill and expertise, at a minimum, obtained through relevant tertiary education, but increasing commensurate with experience. Knowledge and skills, or ability to acquire knowledge and skill, of the operational requirements of the microbiology discipline and core laboratory skills (Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Transfusion Medicine) and ability to perform relevant methods and procedures in each or any of these. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member, to produce an effective work output in terms of quality and quantity. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, client focus and ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to comply with organisational policies and procedures, and assist the laboratory to comply with all relevant legislative, administrative, and professional standards including meeting NATA / ISO / TGA accreditation / certification requirements. Qualifications, registrations and other requirements The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent) from a recognised university or tertiary institution. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor / manager prior to the commencement of duties.
